France & Cyprus Tax Rate Announcement

The VAT rates of these countries will increase in January 2014:

  New Rates
Country Effective on Standard Special Reduced
France 1st January 20% 10%
Cyprus 13th January 19% 9%

Croatia joins the European Union

On 1 July 2013, Croatia will become part of the European Union (EU). In line with this, the following changes will be made to NetSuite accounts:

  1. Entity records – the Tax Reg. Number (Financial tab) will have ‘HR’ as the country prefix
  2. Tax Code pages for Croatia will include additional tax code properties just like the other EU member countries
  3. EU Sales List and Intrastat reports will be updated to include transactions to/from Croatia beginning 1 July 2013
  4. VIES validation

Note: These changes will be available by mid-June 2013
